Happy 2nd Grade Teacher!!

Today, I am happy.  I have accepted a job at Lake Pointe Elementary teaching 2nd grade!!  Lake Pointe is an amazing school filled with teachers who are passionate, intelligent, and caring.  I am ready for the journey ahead of me.   I will spend my summer researching and preparing myself to be the best 2nd grade teacher.

It is crazy to think that just a couple years ago I was a student at Texas State University studying business.  I knew that God had other plans for me and I couldn't be more joyful to have found my way in education. I graduated Texas State in December 2013.  I spent my last semester student teaching at Lake Pointe Elementary in 5th grade.  With the help of Mary Carnes,  the most fabulous mentor and friend, I ended up learning about myself as a teacher.  Experience in the classroom teaches you so much more than you learn in school!

This summer, I will be attending the TCEA Tots and Technology conference in Galveston.  More to come about this awesome opportunity..!  I will also be working Summer Squires in LTISD.  I can't get enough of these kiddos!  And last but not least I am going to COSTA RICA! Woo hoo!
